We also offer a boys only hip hop class to encourage more boys to participate in dance and try out some cool dance moves in a safe environment. Care is taken to only use age appropriate music.
Aspire Dance Academy was established in 2011. The dance school has built a reputation for excellence in student achievement through dance examination results and performances.
We offer experienced and qualified teachers, performance opportunities and excellence in dance training from 3 years of age up. The school is located at the Uniting Church Hall, Meringandan, and the Highfields Fitness & Recreation Centre. Each teacher holds a current Working with Children Blue Card.
Students at Aspire have been selected to perform with the Toowoomba Ballet Theatre productions in 2018 and 2019, the Queensland Ballet Company’s production of the Nutcracker at QPAC in 2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016 and also with the Australian Ballet Company’s production of Manon during 2014. Several students have been selected for the Australian Ballet School’s prestigious Interstate Training Program.
MAPA is well known for our annual “Express Yourself” showcases which highlight the incredible work of our students throughout the year.
Hip hop dance has a very current vibe to it making it extremely popular toward students, this style is so helpful in teaching dancers the understanding of movements such as isolations, depth, ticking, hitting and release just to name a few.
This class is suitable for students who want to learn a free style of dance in a fun atmosphere. We also have a dedicated boys hip hop class for ages 8 years and over.
Learn the latest in popping, locking & crumping. This is a fullon hip-hop class. It is our objective to inspire a passion for the art of dance in every child who passes through our doors.
These classes work towards routines for competitions and performances, as well as drawing upon other dance style techniques to create hard hitting, strong and stylised dancers.
