Our Hip Hop classes use the latest sounds combined with technique from old-school right through to pop and lock. Our mixture of syllabus and open class is a great way to explore your rhythm and dance style. Our hip hop beginners classes start at 6, going through intermediate at aged 9,
In junior levels, we prepare our dancers for Ballet, Tap and Jazz exams with syllabus work; or try out a Fusion, Funk or Hip-Hop class to explore rhythm and music in a friendly, fun environment, with a mix of syllabus and open class work.
We also introduce contemporary classes for our nine and ten-year olds. Students can sit exams annually, and are also given the opportunity to perform on stage at the end of the year.

We offer two syllabi to all our hip hop students, NZAMD and UDO. Both are energetic and fun filled allowing the students to bring their own flavour of style.
Hip-hop dance refers to a street style of dance and it includes a wide range of styles, primarily breaking, locking  and  popping which were created in the 1970s.
