Hip Hop has captured the dance world as the latest dance craze. Hip Hop moves primarily breaking, locking, and popping were created in the 1970s and were made popular by dance crews in the United States. Television shows and films gave hip-hop mainstream exposure.
The dance industry responded with a commercial, studio-based version of hip-hop. Classically trained dancers developed these studio styles in order to create choreography from the hip-hop dances that were performed on the street. Denise Dancing was established in 1982. Commencing at the McDonald Hall in Padbury & the Ocean Ridge Recreation Centre.
Due to the success & growth of the school in 1991 it was obvious that the Denise Dancers needed a home of their very own, therefore Miss Denise opened Joondalup’s very first dance studio.
