Yoyo School of Dancing was established in Edmonton in 2011 and has been dedicated to the instruction and spread of traditional Chinese dance as well as other dance styles.
Yoyo School of Dancing became the first Chinese dance school to own a professional dance studio in Edmonton.
Classes officially commenced in the new dance studio in January of 2016 and we added another studio in July of 2017. We hope to provide a comfortable dance environment for students of all ages.
This class helps develop individuality by allowing each student the opportunity to exhibit their uniqueness and personal style
Classes range from 30 minutes to 90 minutes. Students should wear baggy pants or jogging pants and tshirts or fitted shirts are acceptable. Sneakers are required.
It encourages each dancer's unique sense of movement, and focuses on rhythm and beat. Ranging from hard hitting moves to smooth grooves, hip hop covers it all. If you can’t stop yourself from moving when the beat drops then hip hop is the style for you!
A street style dance class with a relaxed but fun atmosphere! Dancers work on their strength and cardio through energetic warm ups. They dance down the floor working on musicality, accent work, tricks, and footwork. Classes are finished up with combos in various sub-genres of hip-hop.
Hip-hop classes help dancers learn a raw style of movement and performance. Our beginner classes introduce the foundations of hip-hop movement and popular dance steps, while our intermediate and advanced classes focus on combining performance, theatrics, and different movements of Hip-Hop.
