Self-Help for the Elderly provides housekeeping training to teach students basic and advanced skills in all areas of housekeeping and cleaning.
Are you changing your career path and need a new job to be excited about? What about a housekeeping job? Self-Help for the Elderly provides housekeeping training to teach students basic and advanced skills in all areas of housekeeping and cleaning.
Through this job training program, students are taught best practices and ways to be environmentally friendly. Housekeeping students go through a nine week training course to become a housekeeper, starting in either February, August, or November of each year. Students will learn all of the necessary and required skills that it takes to professionally clean a residential home.
Training Includes:
Practical training in cleaning residential facilities
Practice proper and safe use of chemicals in the home
Improving ability to clean effectively and efficiently
How get get a job as a housekeeper
Paying attention to detail
Once students graduate from the housekeeping training program, they become certified housekeepers accredited by City College of San Francisco.
They will then either work for Self-Help for the Elderly, or be placed in another housekeeping job. Self-Help for the Elderly provides weekly, bi-weekly, or one time cleaning services to residents in the San Francisco area.
Self-Help for the Elderly began serving seniors in San Francisco’s Chinatown community in 1966. Today, we serve over 40,000 seniors each year as a non-profit organization.

The Introduction to Hospitality, Housekeeping Pre-Apprenticeship Program is a 150-hour Massachusetts registered pre-apprenticeship program in hotel housekeeping. The program is a free training that prepares graduates for union housekeeping jobs at one of our partner hotels.
This course will prepare you for a career as a head/executive housekeeper or provide household managers with a deeper understanding of the housekeeping department.
This course covers household cleaning techniques, such as proper use of cleaning materials and tools.
This domestic housekeeping training program helps clients learn to run their own professional businesses.
The Housekeeping Job Training Program provides men and women with skills that enable them to enter the commercial housekeeping workforce. While enrolled in the program, trainees clean and maintain the main campus at Pine Street Inn
