Note:
All our pottery is made from our own clay that's dug and processed at the pottery. We are the only boutique pottery in Queensland that does this. We call it Quandamooka (pronounced kwon-da-moo-ka) Clay after the First Australians who lived in our region.
Their totem, the Quandamooka is the name they gave the Dugong or sea cow, a sea mammal like the dolphin. The clay, which was used as body paint by the Quandamooka, is a terracotta stoneware suitable for both forms of ceramic. Blessed by a Quandamooka elder, it really is a unique Australian product.
Making (throwing) pots on the pottery wheel is a bit of a process its a good idea to book at least 2 wheel classes * they don't have to be consecutive.
The class gives you the chance to experience the thrill and fun of the wheel. You will be guided by our professional pottery teachers, where you'll get muddy, creative and have a bit fun. Come on your own or with a friend this is an open, friendly environment.
An 8 week class for beginners and those with experience. Try your hand at hand building or wheel throwing . All clay, firing and glazes
3 days of making (hand building) and 1 day of glazing.
Colour My Pot offers a great experience to introduce you to the art of pottery.
