Do you have a collection of small scraps in your stash that you just hate to throw away? Learn how to incorporate your tiniest scraps into beautiful compositions by using a technique called crumb quilting.

Focusing on fast and improvisational piecing, students will create a finished quilt block that will then be turned into a finished mini quilt. Bring your sewing machine, in good working condition. Materials fee $10, payable to instructor at the time of class

  • Laura Wennstrom holds an MFA in New Media from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Prior to this, she received her undergraduate degree in Studio Art from North Park University in Chicago. As an artist who work in a multi-media and textile-based practice, she has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions across the country. Wennstrom has taught children and adults for the past 10 years as an instructor at Bethel University, Parkland College, Minneapolis Institute of Arts, and the East Side Arts Council. She is a 2021 McKnight Fellowships for Fiber Artists finalist and currently works in her Minneapolis studio
