This introduction course will primarily involve hands-on input modelling and multiple check runs to confirm the stress models are accurate. Over this period of 3 days, the following topics will be introduced at the appropriate section of modelling or analysis for the specific study in hand.

• The Plot tools and the Navigation tools

Piping Codes and Standards

• The many different types of codes for pipe stress

Code compliances of a system

• The differences of the sustained, occasional and expansion stresses
• Performing a manual check and calculation for category 1 and 2
• The difference between on-shore piping and offshore platforms
• Discussion on a day to day pipe stress analysis and where do we start.

• Auxiliary fields and information required
• The Caesar II 3D modeller
• Preparation for a typical pipe stress model

• Building a simple stress file model
• Developing load cases and performing a typical calculation
• Flange modeling and leakage evaluation

• Input procedure for external loads, wind and seismic
