By the end of this course participants will be able to:

  • Explain what the Internal Responsibility System (IRS) is and how it relates to the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
  • Explain the importance of fostering a healthy safety culture
  • Explain the Roles and Responsibilities of workplace parties
  • Explain what health and safety resources are available
  • Explain the role of the Ministry of Labour (MOL)
  • Identify regulations applicable to their workplace
  • Demonstrate creating a policy
  • Demonstrate creating a safe work plan
  • Demonstrate finding rules within the regulations that are relevant to their workplace.
