This course is suitable for Managers and Supervisors wishing to gain a broad understanding of occupational Health & Safety.

 

Key Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the reasons for managing safely.
  • Develop skills in order to conduct a risk assessment.
  • Gain the knowledge on how to effectively control risks
  • Understand what the main responsibilities are of managers and supervisors
  • Understanding of how health and safety law works and the key parts of a health and safety management system.
  • Develop an awareness of what the common hazards encountered in the workplace are.

 

Course Content

The course consists of eight units covering a range of Health & Safety topics including:

  • A general approach to managing safely
  • Understanding why incidents involving injury or damage occur
  • Applying management principles to Health & Safety problems

Assessment

Each delegate will undertake a multiple-choice examination paper and a workplace risk assessment to demonstrate they have achieved the key learning outcomes detailed above.

IOSH Managing Safely Certificate
