IOSH Managing Safely

The IOSH Managing Safely course is designed to provide managers, supervisors and team leaders with the knowledge and tools required to ensure safety in the workplace. It is appropriate for employees in all industries, sectors, and markets.

Developed by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), the IOSH Managing Safely certificate is a recognised accreditation and supports continued professional development.

The IOSH Managing Safely course covers 7 units:

• Introducing managing safely

• Assessing risks

• Controlling risks

• Understanding responsibilities

• Understanding hazards

• Investigating incidents

• Measuring Performance

Assessment and Learning Outcomes

The IOSH Managing Safely course is delivered over 3 days and is assessed in 2 parts:

• Multiple-choice examination

• Practical risk assessment project in which delegates will demonstrate how to apply the knowledge they have gained throughout the course to real-life situations.

Upon successful completion course delegates will:

• Understand the importance of health and safety in the workplace.

• Be able to define the key terms relating to health and safety.

• Understand how to assess, reduce, identify, and control risks in the workplace.
