Jazz

Overview :

Based on the Modern Jazz syllabi from the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing (Australia), dancers will groove to upbeat music in our high energy Jazz class.

Dancers will be taught a variety of performance styles including lyrical jazz and modern jazz.

This high energy dance class is fun and rewarding, as dancers will hone their performance skills and expression, body control, flexibility and confidence.

Dancers will be assessed and given the opportunity to participate in the CSTD Examinations to be properly qualified in their respective grades.

Students can also look forward to Presentation Classes, Recitals and Performances.

What Will Be Covered : 

• Dance Technique: Modern and Lyrical Jazz
• Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing (CSTD, Australia) dance techniques and vocabulary
• Performance, expression and stage work
• Rigorous training increases with age

Learning Outcomes : 

• A dancer who expresses and performs with enjoyment from the heart
• Healthy progression and preparation to participate in yearly CSTD Jazz examinations and assessments
• Passionate and ready dancers will be carefully trained for stage and competitions
• A confident dancer with a well-acquired sense of balance, coordination, spatial awareness, control, posture and poise
• A self-motivated dancer who is passionate and excited about dancing
