Although Jive dancers may appear to be moving their feet haphazardly in every direction, the feet are actually well controlled under the body with knees close together.

The jive has its origins from the Swing dance groups and is a very lively variation of the Jitterbug.
Jive dance classes are offered by InStep Dance Studio. In the Jive old meets new. It combines the shaman’s tam-tam with the kinetic charm of a four-stroke engine. This sparkling mix is intoxicating and makes the dancer’s arms and legs move ferociously.
Jive dance classes are offered by Supreme Dance Centre. Jive is a dance style in 4/4 time that originated in the United States from African/American in the early 1930’s. In competition it is danced at a speed of approx. 40-44 bars per minute.
Step by Step provide classes for all levels and ages; children classes, beginner classes and more advanced classes.
The Jive that most people think of, the one that is danced at family parties and weddings, is generally Rock 'n' Roll Jive.
