Module 1 Getting to Grips with your New Role 

  • Learn about the common pitfalls with a new manager. Benchmark understanding · Start to identify the difference between a manager and a leader. · Understand how to make an early impact in your role. (Influence immediate results) · Establish your team’s priorities and challenges agree quick wins. 

Module 2 Building and Managing Your Team 

  • Understanding the principles of an effective team. · Identify your own team’s strengths and weaknesses. (Team agreements) · Build a team agreement and set ground rules, gaining buy in from all. Agree ways of effectively communicating with your team (Reporting results) 

Module 3 Setting Performance Agreements 

  • Set standards associated with behaviour and welfare. (Agreement in place) · Assess levels of competence within your team. Learn about coaching and mentoring individuals. · Learn about role profiling and building levels of ownership. 

Module 4 Setting Yourself up for success 

  • Begin defining what you need to learn more about and build a plan. (PCID) · Agree several KPIs you aim to measure within your team. · Gain several tips associated with managing poor performance. Agree a statement of intent associated with team performance.
