The Kimekai Leadership Team Programme has been designed for students who are interested in leadership in martial arts. The program helps develop and strengthen leadership skills through participation in learning experiences and practical training in the Kimekai community.
Each team member receives training in specific leadership responsibilities and feedback to help improve their leadership skills.
Students will be invited to join the programme based on their skills, attitude and overall ability to be positive role models to other students. Successful team members will assist instructors during training sessions and in some cases provide guidance and technical assistance to other students
Kimekai is directly affiliated with the Australian Karate Federation (AKF). The AKF conducts routine inspections on all of Kimekai's dojos as well as its instructors to ensure that the tuition and organisation standard meets its strict membership criteria.
In addition, the affiliation to the AKF enables Kimekai members to compete at the highest level because the AKF is under the direction of the Olympic Committee as it debuts as an Olympic sport for the first time during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
