Kimekai is directly affiliated with the Australian Karate Federation (AKF). The AKF conducts routine inspections on all of Kimekai's dojos as well as its instructors to ensure that the tuition and organisation standard meets its strict membership criteria.
In addition, the affiliation to the AKF enables Kimekai members to compete at the highest level because the AKF is under the direction of the Olympic Committee as it debuts as an Olympic sport for the first time during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The program encourages adult participation and interaction aimed at developing essential social skills as well as family interaction. The class is 30 minutes in length on a matted surface, led by an experienced martial arts instructor.Â
