• wind a bobbin
• thread the machine
• information about stitch length and tension
• how and when to change a needle
• how and when to change a foot
• general care for the machine
• practice forward and reverse straight stitching as well as zigzag stitching

Fitting is often the trickiest and most frustrating part about garment sewing. We’ve designed this course for students who have previously sewn garments and are interested in improving the fit of their pants.
Fun & relaxed sewing classes for both beginner and more advanced sewists. Classes are mixed with students of all levels as we work on individual projects tailored to your skill level and preference. We meet once per week for 4 weeks at a time.

Sewing machines and tools will be provided for students to use; students will provide their on fabric, thread, and notions for most projects. For hourly classes, students will receive instruction and sewing time for 55 minutes, leaving the last 5 minutes for wrap-up and clean-u
During this course, students will be introduced to sewing equipment, tools, threads, needles and sewing trims. They will learn all the basic techniques for hand sewing, machine sewing, stitches and seam finishes, and become familiar with a professional vocabulary for sewing terms and definitions.
