The industry is responsible for designing holidays, making sure that customers arrive safe with bags in hand, and ensuring that their accommodation and activities are second to none. By working in the travel and tourism industry, you can be part of making all of that possible!
This interesting one-year course will help you to develop the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed within one of the most intricate industries around. You will learn about the whole industry, discovering the different sectors involved, understanding issues, and learning how to manage the world around us.

On this exciting course you will study a mixture of core and optional units including the UK travel & tourism industry, customer service, airports and airlines, industry experience in the sector, event organisation and guided tours.

Upon completion of your course, you will be able to proceed on to the Level 3 Travel & Tourism course to develop your skills further,
Higher education routes from the course are also available within the college, upon completion of the Level 3 Travel & Tourism course. You may choose to go on to study courses such as international tourism management or event management at university, or stay on at Warrington & Vale Royal College to study the Travel & Tourism or even Business HNC and HND.
Over the past few years, many of our students have acquired jobs with some of the country’s leading travel companies. We have students currently flying for many airlines, including TUI, Jet2.com, Ryanair, EasyJet and Virgin Atlantic. In addition, many more students work as ground support at airports and as flight dispatchers. We also have students who have gone on to work in luxury hotels, travel agencies and many more related organisations.
What are the entry requirements?
You will need a minimum of four GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English and/or maths, or successful completion of a level 1 qualification. You will be expected to continue to study towards a GCSE Grade 4 English and/or maths if not already achieved.
