Come discover the flavor behind the humble pretzel. Get twisty with Brioche or Challah. Dig into a discussion with your peers. “Wild yeast versus commercial yeast?” Learn how to keep feeding your starter so it lasts forever.
Enjoy making loaves from scratch, with other excited learners. Hand mixing the ingredients, using active yeast or live sourdough starters, and pro baking techniques.
Designed especially for the home baker, our Virtual Hybrid Live Bread Courses are an introduction to sourdough bread making. With your very first course, you will learn how to make a Sourdough starter to share for generations.
How Does It Work:
Meet once per week for 8-weeks. If you miss a class - don't fret, the recording will be available for you to view. Live online classes include live meetings over video chat at a scheduled time(s).
Some of our classes meet just once, others many times over a set schedule. Classes are more than the live meetings - they are experiential explorations of baking techniques and delicious skills you will take with you beyond this classroom.
Once you have booked your class you will receive an informational packet that includes your inventory and equipment lists + recipes so you will be successful in our live virtual classroom.
Michelle and her daughter Karma Lani are ready to share their recipes for some of the most delicious bakes and pastries you've ever eaten. They'll teach you to recreate them again and again from your home kitchen.

Our unique Mindful Baking Days are a practical and fun way of learning to apply Mindfulness to all aspects of our lives. We pay careful, moment by moment attention to the process and the ingredients as we learn to produce top quality artisan bread.
We will begin with our sourdough starter. You will learn how to make it from scratch, how to maintain it and also keep alive! We will then bake delicious loaves and a fougasse (a pretty looking bread from south of France).
We will introduce you to a range of flours from Shipton Mill and you will learn about using fresh and dried yeast to make a variety of doughs for different types of bread. Once you have learned these basic doughs, you can experiment at home with different shapes and adding extra flavours to them...
