For more than 30 years, JDW’s goal has never changed. We strive to allow all students the opportunity to perform at their highest potential, achieving maximum results in a disciplined and friendly environment.
We pride ourselves on offering a well-rounded performing arts training. We do this by placing an equal emphasis on all dance styles; jazz, musical theatre, tap, ballet, hip hop, lyrical and contemporary.
In addition to this, we offer additional classes such as singing, acrobatics, conditioning and speciality classes to ensure our dancers are versatile and technical.
We aim for our students to be humble, hardworking, confident, show creative expression and be supportive of one another. Our unmatched teaching staff combines traditional methods with up-to-date trends and styles.
Contemporary Dance Lessons are offered by Dance Tech. Dance Technique prides itself on being Gold Coast’s leading Performing Arts Studio and offers a diverse range of dance disciplines under one roof.
We also offer Contemporary and Lyrical classes. Most of our junior ballet students choose to do the Contemporary / Lyrical class and our major students have Contemporary included in the full Ballet course. The students have performed some beautiful numbers in our end of year concert.
Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including jazz and classical ballet. Originally, "contemporary dance" referred to the movement of new dancers who did not want to follow strict classical ballet and lyrical dance forms.
Contemporary builds a strong expressive, lyrical and dynamic dancer. There is lots of work on fluid movements, floorwork, and contractions as well as intricate combinations and big movement passages.
Bluerhythmix is now offering Contemporary classes following the ATOD syllabus from the age of 8 and above.
