We believe that students learn most effectively through interaction as well as listening to, reading and responding to meaningful texts. Jiale Zhongwen Extension classes enable students with some prior learning to enrich their Chinese proficiency through exposure to a range of stories, videos and other appropriate written or visual texts in Chinese.
Students are also given opportunities to develop their spoken and written language production skills through composing and performing a range of different texts. In 2023 we are offering two extension classes for our continuing students, Chinese Text Creation and Advanced Chinese Text Creation. These are suitable for motivated school aged learners with prior learning and Chinese for Families graduates.
We have previously also offered extension classes for senior secondary students taking Chinese as a second language at school.
Jiale Zhongwen was started in January 2008 and incorporates both Chinese for Families and Better Chinese Australia and New Zealand. Our mission is to provide and support high quality Chinese as an additional language education for children and young people growing up in Australia. Jiale Zhongwen was registered as an Australian company in December 2013.
Through our Chinese for Families classes we provide a service to families who wish their primary school aged children to learn Chinese. Chinese for Families offers a relaxed yet language intensive program which helps children progress at their own pace towards clearly defined conversational and literacy goals.
Better Chinese Australia and New Zealand is the Australian and New Zealand distributor for Better Chinese products. We provide information and ongoing support for schools, teachers, language centres and individuals interested in or currently using Better Chinese materials. We also run professional development workshops.
AMEA’s I.S.B.L™ program (Immersive Situational-Based Learning) which was created in 2008, it was inspired by project learning. It is combined immersive language teaching method and problem solving based learning.
