Previously, as Head of Languages at The Southport School on the Gold Coast, I designed experiential learning programs to make learning engaging, fun and easy.
We visited local restaurants, hiked on the Great Wall, and explored Shanghai. During this time, I was awarded an Excellence in Teaching Award by the Queensland College of Teachers, for years of outstanding service to Chinese language education.

I’m a certified trainer and qualified teacher, and a passionate student of Sinology. Currently undertaking a PhD in Applied Linguistics at Monash University, I'm exploring the potential for virtual environments to be used for the teaching, learning and assessment of vocational competence in other languages, initially Mandarin Chinese.
