The manual handling refresher run by FirstAidPro is designed to serve as an annual update to Manual Handling training. To take part in the course, participants must have previously completed the HLTWHS005 Conduct manual tasks safely qualification.

This course is recommended annually for all staff directly involved in the handling and moving of clients.

This includes (but is not limited to) ambulance staff, student nurses (pre-placement), physiotherapists, health and nurse aides, occupational therapists, medical staff, nurses, and people working with the disabled and aged in the community.

Our manual handling course – which is fully accredited and recognised throughout Australia – provides healthcare workers with the specialised skills and knowledge to provide direct care to clients in aged care, health, nursing, or home care contexts.

The course has a particular focus on the safety of the worker, the well-being of the client, and the benefit to the wider community.

The course requires no online assessments or e-learning – all assessments are handled directly by the trainer during the refresher course.

The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia has confirmed that hours spent on the training contribute to Continuing Professional Development.

If you want to gain entry or work on a building site in Australia, you’ll need the General Construction Induction. 

This includes overseas students who want to work as labourers, work on a construction project, or just go onsite in the Brisbane area and throughout Australia. 

If you do not complete the associated Training, you could be faced with large fines. You will also put yourself and others at risk of injury. 

In the course, you will learn all about keeping yourself safe at work, safe practices, and how to behave on a building site.
