Course Details

Master in construction management (ceec707) is a program that focuses on strengthening knowledge and skills in business management for the construction personnel. The program aims to produce construction entrepreneurs who can strategically apply advanced principle of construction business management and innovative leadership with digital abilities. 

To produce graduates knowledgeable in the field of business management, the curriculum has considered all the basic factors that influence the successful construction company including operation, finance, marketing, legislation, and resource control. The curriculum emphasizes on business thinking which encourages graduates to generate excellent business opportunity in the future.

Entry Requirements

  • Direct entry to holders of Bachelor Degree (Hons) of Civil Engineering from UiTM or any Institutions of Higher Learning recognized by the UiTM Senate with a minimum 2.50 CGPA; OR
  • A bachelor's degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting a CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment; OR
  • Candidates without a qualification in the related fields or working experience in the relevant fields must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by the university and meet the minimum CGPA based on above; OR
  • 30 years and above at year of application for an entry/access to a programme at Masters level (APEL T-7) with STPM/Diploma or any qualification equivalent to Diploma and experience in a related field.

  • PEO2- Construction entrepreneurs/professional with innovative leadership & digital abilities.
  • PEO3- Construction entrepreneurs/professional who can accomplish outstanding achievement through lifelong learning with practicing ethics and professionalism.

Programme Outcomes

  • PLO1: Evaluate complex problems based on synthesis of information, specialized concepts, theories, methods and practice to provide innovative solutions to solve problems in construction business management.
  • PLO2: Exemplify capacity to solve and manage complex problems or issues in the field of construction business management through research, using advanced techniques/tools/skills/approaches for decision making and innovative solutions or practice.
  • PLO3: Conduct standard and specialized research methods/ approaches and/or apply practical skills, tools or investigative techniques/methods/approaches of the latest development in construction business management.
  • PLO4: Work together and collaboratively with different people in learning and working communities and other groups and networks, ethically and professionally.
  • PLO5: Communicate clearly the knowledge, skills, ideas, critique and conclusion/rationale using appropriate methods to peers, experts, and non-experts in at least one international language.
  • PLO6: Competently use a wide range of suitable digital technologies and appropriate software to enhance study, research and/or work/practice.
  • PLO7: Apply mathematical and other quantitative, qualitative tools to analyze and evaluate numerical and graphical data for study/work.
  • PLO8: Demonstrate significant autonomy, independence, leadership and interpersonal skills at work and class, responsible in planning, managing resources and collaboratively solve unpredictable situations.
  • PLO9: Exemplify self-advancement through continuous academic and/or professional development.
  • PLO10: Initiate and/or lead entrepreneurial ventures/ projects.
  • PLO11: Demonstrate confidence to give advice and make decisions on complex issues based on critical reflections and ethical considerations.
