Lewis University has achieved arboretum status at its main campus in Romeoville. The University received this award by achieving certain standards of professional practices deemed important for arboretum and botanic gardens. Lewis University is a veritable arboretum with more than 2,400 trees in addition to wooded areas.

The Philip Lynch Theatre is located in the Oremus Fine Arts Center on the main campus. The Philip Lynch Theatre season runs from July to April each year.
The box office opens one hour before scheduled performances. Ticket prices generally range from $10-12 with discounts for seniors. Reservations are recommended for all performances.

Lewis University competes in 23 NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Sports throughout the fall, winter and spring and is a member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Many sports events are free.

The Center strives to preserve and promote the region’s heritage (with a special focus on the Illinois and Michigan Canal) through the collection of historic documents and materials and promotion of research and activities involving core areas of public history.
Lewis faculty, students, and community partners engage in activities that fall into three broad areas: scholarship, education, and community outreach. - The History Center is located on the second floor of the Library in the Learning Resource Center.
