MODU Inspection
The blowout on the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig on April 20th 2010, whilst drilling the Macondo well in the Gulf of Mexico, significantly raised worldwide awareness of the risks involved in offshore oil & gas operations. In addition to the tragic loss of eleven lives, the blowout released nearly five million barrels of oil into the waters of the Gulf, and is considered to be the world’s largest accidental oil spill from offshore operations.
In order to ensure a high level of safety in the European offshore oil & gas industry, the European Parliament and Council subsequently published Directive 2013/30/EU on safety of offshore oil and gas operations (OSD), amending Directive 2004/35/EC, obliging Member States to introduce implementing legislation covering wide-ranging requirements for safety and environmental protection during offshore oil & gas operations. One of the key obligations was the creation of national Competent Authorities to regulate such aspects for offshore oil & gas installations in their waters.
Under the Directive, a fundamental role of a Competent Authority (CA) is to oversee compliance by operators and owners, including by inspections, investigations and enforcement actions.
Discussions with Member States’ representatives at the European Union Offshore Authorities Group (EUOAG) have identified the need for sharing good practise concerning Competent Authorities’ inspections to ensure better consistency of approaches.
Elite Offshore Academy has been established to provide quality training to the people working in the Offshore, Marine and General Industry (OSHA).
Most of our courses are unique and futuristic in nature that have been designed by experience and are adhering to latest guidelines promulgated by global competent authorities. Although we started with focus on offshore sector, with demand, we have been slowly shifting towards OSHA.
The courses are conducted by trained and qualified faculties who have several years of working experience in the industry. The centre uses latest aids and equipment to impart training.
Elite Offshore is very conveniently located at the kharghar, sector 2, Little World Mall, 1st floor, Unit 123 The centre aims at providing cost effective solution to the ever-increasing training requirement of Offshore, Marine and OSHA Industry.
Training programs may be customized or scheduled to suit specific needs of companies or groups of students.
OPITO Approved Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) with Emergency Breathing System (EBS)
Diploma In Off Shore Safety course is offered by international safety council. The qualified faculties at the safety training institute do ensure that the students are taught well in health and safety.
The T-BOSIET will introduce delegates to the specific safety issues and regimes relevant to offshore installations, and to equip them with the basic emergency response knowledge and skills for travelling to and from offshore installations by helicopter in a tropical environment.
OIM course is as per IMO (International Maritime Organisation) Resolution A.1079(28) adopted on 4th Dec 2013. This course is applicable for non propulsion vessel such as Construction, Pipe-lay and Accommodation barges; Semisub and Jackup drilling units etc which use anchor to stay in position.
OPITO Approved Tropical Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training (T-BOSIET) is offered by GSS Training. "GSS Training'' and ''GSS Group'' are trading names of Global Safety Safety Services Group UK Ltd, and it's subsidiaries GSSGI India PVT Ltd, an energy sector training provider.
