It provides the knowledge of specific legal requirements in line with up to date health and safety policies and safe systems of work procedures.
The practical element allows attendees to learn how to move people safely and to understand the types of equipment used. This course is aimed at all carers who need to lift or handle someone.
What This Course Covers:
The reasons for safe manual handling
How to recognise unsafe practices in the workplace
What a risk assessment is and how it can be used to promote person centred care safely
The principles, types of equipment and testing requirements associated with manual handling safety
How to apply safe manual handling principles to move and transfer people safely, in a way that maintains their dignity and, where possible, promotes their independence.
