Music in Motion

In this workshop you will learn how to develop your own animated music video with experienced animated music video makers Eleanor and Giovanni, who will share with you their process to create music videos from beginning to end.

You will learn how to analyse a piece of music, explore ideas based on a song and make a plan or storyboard for your music video. With this plan in hand you will develop your own music video and learn techniques animators use to make ideas a reality.
Get hands on making your own animated loops that match the beat of a song and explore animation techniques to choreograph movement to music.

This workshop is great for musicians who want to create their own music videos or for animators and filmmakers interested in working with music. Bring along your own song to create music videos or work with provided music.

In this workshop we will work with the Stop Motion Studio Pro Application which is available on ios, Android, MacOs and windows for $8.99. If you want to work with a camera you can check your camera’s compatibility and bring along a laptop to control your camera.

What to bring 

• A piece of music that you would like to work with (royalty free or your own original piece)
• Lights (ring light or lights that are small and portable)
• Phone, tablet or digital camera
• Any additional materials you would like to work with
