Students will learn the principles of recording and manipulation of Audio and MIDI (vocals, live instruments and virtual instruments) in Cubase.
Completion of minimum requirements for this short course will result in the issuance of a CityVarsity Certificate of Proficiency. Should a student not have met the minimum requirements but have attended more than 80% of lectures, a CityVarsity Certificate of Attendance will be issued.
Certificates are only issued once the balance have been settled in full.This short learning programme is not registered on the NQF and is not credit bearing.

The Audio Mixing Techniques explores the many creative and technical considerations necessary to mix in today’s music production environment, regardless of platform or format.
There are no academic entrance requirements for this skills program. We do however require a minimum age of 16 and a minimum schooling of Grade 10 or equivalent. Basic computer knowledge is also required.
Some of us are passionate about music, sound, and live events! One of the most important things a Sound Engineer needs before getting hired to work at these events, is lots of experience.
The techniques and principles you will learn on this course are universal and not specific to any genre like house or trance or any other sub genres.
