This career-oriented course is the first step in your training towards a career as a boilermaker.

When you study this course, you will be introduced to the basic theoretical elements of boilermaking, and you will gain the knowledge and skills you need to progress to the N2 level.

 

Entry requirements:

  • Grade 10 (with Maths, Science and Drawings) or Grade 9 with N1 Bridging Certificate

 

Subjects covered:

  • Mathematics N1
  • Plating and Structural Steel Drawings N1
  • Engineering Science N1
  • Metal Workers Theory N1

 

Assessment and award:

Students are required to complete the following:

  • 3 assignments per subject
  • 1 exam per subject

 

Upon completion of this course, students will be awarded a Certificate of Achievement: N1 Engineering Studies from DHET.
