Topics include the history of neuroscience, research methods of neuroscientific inquiry, animal paradigms, research ethics, neuron structure, neural conduction (emphasizing the action potential), synaptic transmission, the structure of the nervous system, gross neuroanatomy, and various sensory and motor systems.
