Welcome to Julia Macalpine Dance Studio - a well-established dance studio with a 30-year history.
Julia Macalpine - Principal - leads a team of committed, experienced staff in a fun yet professional environment. Our pupils are prepared for R.A.D. and I.ST.D. exams, as well as having the opportunity to perform on stage in our famously spectacular performance and competitive events. Many of our former pupils have gone on to successful careers in the performing arts.

With two spacious, fully equipped air-conditioned studios in Manoora and Manunda in Cairns - North Queensland, we offer an exciting range of dance styles including ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary, tap and musical theatre.
Class begins with a hip-hop warm-up where students follow the teachers movement, moving on to gentle stretches and dance combinations which are great for fitness. In the last part of the class students will learn a hip-hop dance.
Hip Hop Dance is offered by The Performance Studio. Our Recreational Classes offer students a supportive and low-commitment way to experience and enjoy dance at TPS.
This is street dance at its best. Classes involve isolations, turns, freezes, tricks, tutting, floor work and performance styles whilst learning choreography to up to date modern songs.
Hobart's first ever Hip Hop class! The coolest moves and grooves and explosive routines. Students are placed in their appropriate age group and may select as many classes as they like for their weekly timetable.
Hip hop dance has a very current vibe to it making it extremely popular toward students, this style is so helpful in teaching dancers the understanding of movements such as isolations, depth, ticking, hitting and release just to name a few.
