Operate Breathing Apparatus aims to provide candidates with the skills and knowledge required to operate and maintain breathing apparatus and equipment in an irrespirable atmosphere, as defined by the Australian Standard AS/NZS 1715:2009 Selection, use and maintenance of respiratory protective equipment.
Operate Breathing Apparatus is suitable for persons who are required to wear breathing apparatus for entry to confined spaces with potentially toxic environments, and/or may be required to respond to emergency situations. There are no prerequisites for this course.
Description:
This course is delivered through classroom presentations, activities and participant discussion as well as practical components within a simulated workplace environment using specialised equipment. Trainees will demonstrate their competence through direct observation, oral &/or written assessment & practical exercises.
Upon successful completion trainees will be issued with a Statement of Attainment in MSMWHS216 Operate Breathing Apparatus:

This unit of competency (UOC) meets the general construction induction training requirements of: Part 1.1 Definitions and Part 6.5 of the Model Work Health and Safety Regulations; Division 11 of Part 3 of the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations 1996 for Western Australia
Our three day training course is for people who have minimal or no roller operating experience. It’s an intensive, hands-on training course, with the majority of the time spent operating the equipment. A strong theoretical component is also included that focuses on safe operating procedures.
This course includes training to test the working atmosphere, to determine if it is safe for the proposed work, involving the use of electronic test apparatus requiring the person to interpret readings and take action.
To provide applicants with the practical skills and knowledge to safely operate a Vehicle Loading Crane (capacity 10mt tonnes and above (CV) in accordance with Safe Work Australia's National Standard for Licencing Persons Performing HRW.
This course requires a person operating a forklift truck to plan the work, conduct routine checks on a forklift truck, shift loads in a safe manner, and safely shut down and secure equipment after completing operations.
