Paediatric Basic Life Support

Paediatric Basic Life Support teaches a core set of lifesaving skills that can be used to save the life of an infant / child during a medical emergency. Solely focusing on the most important practical skills that are required in these situations. 

The course further explores the key areas of first aid that address the period between sudden collapse/ accident and the arrival of the emergency services.

About this course

The Paediatric Basic Life Support course addresses the infant / child casualty who may need their breathing checked and airway opened. Learners are taught how to deliver CPR and the importance of choking due to a high number of instances involving these age groups. Expect to learn the following topics:

• Primary survey / DRABCD

• Recovery position 

• CPR 

• AED

• Choking

By its conclusion learners are awarded with a nationally recognised certificate, which is valid for three years. However some industries require an annual refresher of this qualification.
