PfMP has a list of academic and professional prerequisites.
Applicants who have a secondary degree, high school diploma, associate degree, or a global equivalent need at least 84 months of portfolio management experience and at least 96 months of professional business experience within the last 15 years.
Applicants with a four-year degree, a bachelor degree, or a global equivalent need at least 48 months of portfolio management experience and at least 96 months of professional business experience within the last 15 years.

The Exam
The PFMP Certification Exam is very challenging. To succeed, you must:
Dedicate your time and effort to preparing for the exam.
Results of the study indicated that the 150 scorable questions on the test should be distributed among the domains. The remaining 20 questions will be dispersed throughout the domains as pretest questions and will not count in the candidates scores. The pretest items allow PMI to monitor the question performance better, prior to including the questions in the final databank of test questions
