  • As an internationally award-nominated composer, musician, producer, and educator, Jade Kerber has over a decade of experience within the music industry encompassing performance, composition, teaching, and music production. Originally from Tasmania, Jade has 20 years of experience as a pianist and musician having begun his musical journey at an early age. Primarily focused on classical piano in his early years, Jade has developed a strong passion for 20th and 21st century Australian classical music in addition to working on repertoire spanning from the Baroque to Romantic eras. ?In 2014 Jade relocated to Melbourne to pursue further studies in music, completing a Bachelor of Composition and Music Production. Through tertiary studies, Jade’s focus transitioned from classical repertoire to jazz pedagogy, in both his performance and composition, culminating in the release of his first record in August 2016 titled SQUARE ONE. This album received nominations for best instrumental jazz album at the Australian Independent Music Awards and the international Independent Music Awards in New York. Jade continued to pursue further studies, completing a second Bachelor with Honours in Music Technology. His studies focused on the implementation of new technological advancements in keyboard designs and their reflection on the pedagogical approach pianists take to interpret repertoire on new keyboard-based instruments. On completion of his studies, Jade released his second record HAPTICA, utilising many of these new technologies into the album. HAPTICA also received a nomination at the 2018 Independent Music Awards in New York. In recent years Jade has continued to push the boundaries of contemporary jazz, blending technology with traditional instrumentation to develop new and unique textures. Jade also performs regularly throughout Melbourne and Australia in many projects that include genres such as RnB, Soul, Hip Hop, Funk and more. In addition to performing he works as producer, collaborating with local and international artists to produce singles, EPs, and records, all to a meticulous standard. Jade is an experienced piano teacher in both traditional classical and jazz repertoire, offering students the opportunity to pursue examinations, or take a more relaxed and creative approach to the piano. He works with students of all ages and skill levels, from absolute beginners to professional musicians. His knowledge and skills in music technology also offer the potential for interested students to explore exciting contemporary repertoire on additional instruments such as electric pianos and synthesizers. He enjoys mentoring students to develop skills that they can take into the music industry as contemporary keyboardists and musicians performing throughout Melbourne.
