Join us in-person to make pillowcases for veterans that are part of the Road Home Program at Rush Hospital. The Road Home is dedicated to the mental health and wellness of veterans, service members, members of the National Guard, reservists and families.
It provides intensive outpatient treatment to men and women who are struggling with the invisible wounds of PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), MST (military sexual trauma) and TBI (traumatic brain injury). Services are offered without regard to ability to pay.
Participants in the program stay in residential housing near Rush during their two-week treatment. Receiving a hand made pillowcase will provide comfort to these men and women, and remind them of our gratitude for their time, bravery and sacrifice.
TQT is providing the fabric, patterns and use of store sewing machines and sergers for this event. You just need to bring your enthusiasm! While all skill levels are welcome, this event is for ages 16+.
Space is limited, so secure your spot by registering. Walk-ins are welcome if not all registered spots are taken.
Four 1-hour time slots are available on Wednesday, October 19 and Thursday, October 20. Register for whatever time slot works for you. You do not need to stay for the full hour.
The Quilter’s Trunk offers a range of Events & Classes. New Owner Guide and Mastery Classes are free if you purchased your machine at TQT. Spaces for in-person events and classes are limited. Therefore, please register in advance for all events and classes, even those that are free.
