The need for new pipelines, like the Trans Mountain expansion, has come under question by some stakeholders, forcing project delays, cancellations & rethinking of oil & gas shipping options.
Much early North American pipeline infrastructure is now aging, so line replacement is another concern. Oil & gas price volatility dictates midstream companies control capital & operating costs.
Grasping pipeline fundamentals is a first step towards understanding & strategizing over these issues.
The Canadian Energy Regulator, mandated to oversee pipelines crossing provincial & national borders, now foregrounds safety, environmental assessment & stakeholder consultation over project economics.

Oak Leaf Energy Training was incorporated in April 2010, a spin-off of the Training Services Department of the Canadian Energy Research Institute (CERI).
Oak Leaf’s President, Jon Rozhon, was the former head of CERI’s Training Services Department and, until 2016, also served as Senior Researcher at the Institute.
Oak Leaf offers in-house training and bespoke courses throughout North America and the world.
Over 200 organizations — major oil & gas companies, utilities, governments, and NGO’s — have sent their personnel to Oak Leaf courses during our many years in business.
Continuity is one reason why they have done this: Oak Leaf offers updated versions of the core CERI courses that were attended by over 5000 people and retained CERI’s finest instructors.
Oak Leaf has carried on in the spirit of CERI, which sadly ceased operations in 2022, by offering independent, relevant, practical training that is up to date with the latest energy industry technology, economics, and policy.

As part of this piping drafting training program, students learn fundamental administrative skills, including essential software such as Autodesk AutoCAD, interpersonal, and business communication skills.
Assiniboine’s six month Applied Plumbing Installation certificate program introduces graduates to plumbing and piping trades and prepares them for entry-level positions in construction or maintenance positions.
