Prior to opening Bloc, Tucker and Jen had considered a small in-house baking program in the basement of Diesel or a commissary to have creative control over all the items they served. Opening Bloc took over and another 7 years quickly passed before they opened Forge Baking Company in October of 2014.
That same year, they took on an additional 5000 square feet to move all of the kitchens into one location and build out a training lab and a dedicated workshop.
Learn how to make great pizza! We will teach you Neapolitan, New York style and Detroit Deep Dish dough. You will learn how to bake pizza in an outdoor pizza oven and on your gas grill. Next time you have friends and family over for pizza, your guests will taste the difference.
This is the night you have been waiting for! Join us in a celebration of pizza and prosecco and watch our Pizzaioli at work! Our pizzaioli will be stretching dough and firing pizzas all evening in our oven room, for this special pizza dinner.
There are many types of pizza. In this class everyone will make two different doughs; one to make a traditional Chicago style deep dish pizza and the other to make a flat bread pizza and even a dessert pizza.
It will be structured with a professional chef leading the class. Explanations will be simple and concise, yet with a professional taste. Hygiene is crucial, and the working materials are of the highest quality.
