While it’s important to learn the theory, what’s going to make you shine as an apprentice is your ability to help the job move along. Our program ensures you are in the lab 60% of the time, working with what matters most—your hands!
Plumbers are skilled professionals who specialize in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems. They work with pipes, fixtures, and other components to ensure the proper functioning of water supply, drainage, and sewage systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
Our graduates will receive the necessary skills, safety training, and hands-on practice needed to make them the most sought-after plumbing apprentices in their field.
The Skilled Trades College was established to provide individuals with the hands-on skills and knowledge required to begin a career in the skilled trades industry. STC programs focus on safety knowledge, theory, and hands-on experience through simulated work environments in the lab.
The hands-on work provides young adults and those looking to change careers with the fundamentals necessary to begin an apprenticeship in the skilled trades. The high demand for skilled pre-apprentice labour combined with the strong construction industry growth has encouraged the college to expand to offer a larger spectrum of pre-apprentice programs.
Today with 5 campuses conveniently located to serve Toronto and the GTA; STC has graduated over 1000 students and prepared them for a career in the skilled trades.
This course is intended for practicing engineers, technicians and technologists and those concerned with the Municipal and Urban Drainage systems and Management of construction site erosion
At the end of the plumbing course, you will be able to install and maintain water supply systems under supervision. These systems include cold water piping, hot water piping, fixtures, and water supply system repair.
Once you pass this course, you will be recertified as a cross connection control tester.
This one-year certificate program will provide you with skills sought by employers and position you at the front of workers competing for entry-level jobs in the plumbing industry, including apprenticeships.
You will gain an understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects of the trade, associated tools and materials, that will help you on your journey to becoming a licensed plumber or pursuing many other construction-related careers.
