The face to face practical workshops involve physical components including a 200m swim in under 6 minutes (any recognisable stroke),
Recover and resuscitate, contact and non-contact tows, and the basic and advanced water rescue techniques, all of which are contextualised to the facility. You will also be required to perform CPR for an extended period of time.
The theory components on the days of the face-to-face delivery are all active learning activities where everyone will be involved. All prospective Pool Lifeguards will be involved in active learning, role plays and troubleshooting activities on the days of their attendance.
Communication, conflict resolution skills, incident reporting, and Venue checklists are also done within the theory component.
