This training is part of the mandatory basic safety training for all seafarers with designated duties in the operation of the ship. Training must be under taken by new entrants to the Maritime Industry. Open to all who are physically fit and are able to undertake the practical training. The required minimum age is 16 years.
The course can be undertaken by seafarers who have a certificate of Proficiency in Fire Prevention and Firefighting.
NB- certificates of proficiency issued under the authority of other administrators will be acceptable or Seafarers who have six months or more sea service prior to 1st August 1998 and were exempt from basic safety courses.
There is no requirement to submit a self declaration form for this course, as the elements of training permitted to be carried out on board would not significantly reduce the time of the shore based programme.
The course consists of theoretical and practical input for all seafarers that will be required to take action in the event of a fire. The focus is on using firefighting equipment and Breathing Apparatus to extinguish carious types and sizes of fire including casualty rescue in smoked filled enclosed spaces.
Assessment will be in the form of a final written exam and Q&A during visual
observation of simulated practical scenarios.

Fire Safety course training is offered by Wright Safety Solutions for all skill level. Wright Safety Solutions is also offering safety services to Clients and Principal Contractors in construction projects, as a safety adviser to assist with compliance with the new CDM 2015 regulations.
Fire Warden course training is offered by UK Safety for all skill level. All participants will be issued with a course booklet and an academy certificate of training.
