Overview
Psychology is the study of the human mind and behaviour. A level Psychology introduces psychological approaches, theories, concepts and methods, and how the science of psychology works.
Through case studies you will learn how to draw parallels between their findings. You will also be introduced to important issues and debates within psychology as applied to contemporary psychological topics.
In your first year you will learn about major approaches to psychology, including exploring key items of research, learning about important studies related to that topic, and finding out how research is conducted in that area of psychology. You will learn to use statistical tests to help interpret data collected in class exercises.
Year two gives you an opportunity to study some uses of psychology in the real world. You will discover how the approaches you have learned about come together to explain human behaviour.
