The PTE test is designed to meet the language proficiency requirement to study and immigrate to English speaking countries.
Pearson Test (PTE) is a computerised test with 20 different response formats tested across three – PTE speaking and PTE writing, PTE reading and PTE listening. PTE is developed to give an experience one that is similar to your real life encounters in English.
PTE Test Scoring
The PTE reports three different scores – an Overall score, Communicative skills’ score and Enabling skills’ score each on a scale from 10 to 90.
Communicative skills scores are reported for four categories – Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing. Enabling skills scores are reported for six parts of language – Grammar, Oral fluency, Pronunciation, Spelling, Vocabulary and Written discourse.
All questions on the PTE are system scored. Some responses are considered as either correct or incorrect by awarding 1 point to each correct response and other responses are considered as either correct, or partial correct or incorrect by awarding maximum points to each correct response, or less than maximum points to each partial correct response.
PTE Test Score Reports
Your PTE score report will be available within five days after the test. Your will receive an email notification once your score is available. You can access your score report through your pearson account and send the score report to unlimited universities worldwide for free of charge. Usually the universities will receive your score within 48 hours. PTE score is valid for two years.
