DurationThis is a 3 day course and the purpose of this training is to provide delegates with a series of explanations and practical demonstrations which will identify what they are expected to know when performing rigging operations. The syllabus covers the following:
Delegates will work in teams to complete various complex rigging tasks involving cross hauling and general routine lifts.
Delegates will be required to plan given rigging tasks assessed on their own skills and knowledge.
MOGA is an initiative of South African Oil & Gas Alliance (SAOGA), which serves the Interests of Industry and Members in the Upstream and Midstream Oil and Gas Sectors in Africa.
SAOGA is dedicated to promoting the upstream and midstream sectors of the oil and gas value chain, primarily in South Africa and regionally in Southern Africa.
The organisation operates as a partnership between the public and private sectors, receiving public funding to carry out a range of industry development activities and working to promote the interests of members. It is overseen by an independent volunteer Board of Directors from industry and a number of other key stakeholders.
We will focus on the safe use of equipment, policies and procedures as well as the roles of all people involved with a lift. Topics discussed include, but are not limited to, unit standard learning outcomes, assessment, steel wire slings, chain slings, polyester slings, shackles and eye bolts.
Rigging & Slinging training is offered by Siyakhulisa Skills Academy & Assessment Centre. Extensive training and management experience, supported by collaborative partnerships with specialised professionals.
Basic Rigging training is offered by Colliery Training College. The Colliery Training College (Pty) Ltd. was founded in 1965. Initially, CTC was established to cater only for the mining sector, but has diversified and artisan skills training is now available for all interested parties.
Rigging and Slinging training is offered by Occusafe (Pty)Ltd. Accredited training is provided nationwide on site by our dedicated and professional facilitators.
