Leavitt Machinery was founded by Tom Leavitt in 2001. However, his journey in the material handling industry began in 1986 when he joined Finning as the General Manager of the material handling division. Under Tom’s leadership, the division became a huge success generating revenues of $67 million.
Finning wanted to focus on heavy equipment and decided to sell the material handling division for a year's worth of revenue.
Tom saw this as an opportunity to grow the business, so he decided to buy the division from finning and turn it into Leavitt Machinery.
