Yorkshire Dance is a charity which champions the value of dance and its development in Yorkshire.
We create opportunities for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to see, make and take part in high quality dance.
Grade 4/5 Tap classes are offered by The Dream Academy of Dancing. The aim of the school is to have fun, stay fit, make new friendships, build confidence and self-esteem, improve posture, co-ordination, creativity and musicality in a fun and friendly environment.
Tap dance is a theatrical art form often seen on stage in musicals such as; Anything Goes, 42nd Street, Book of Mormon and Billy Elliot. The classes are technique based with opportunities to take ISTD examinations from primary to ADV2 level.
Primary Tap dance classes are offered by SD Studios. Founded by professional performer Sarah Smith, SD Studios aim to give students the highest possible level of performing arts training to create well rounded, "triple threat" performers.
These hour long classes will be half an hour of modern stage dance and half an hour of stage tap. Both of these syllabus are set out by National Association of Teachers of dance. Students will be eligible to take their graded exams and medal tests.
