This course is suitable for everyone in all industry sectors who compile risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), at all levels including operatives, supervisors, managers, directors, office personnel, construction workers, maintenance staff, teachers and engineers.
Course Content:
This course incorporates, fun, dynamic and memorable training methods to optimise learner recall. Delegates will gain the ability, knowledge to compile legally compliant risk assessments and method statements which provides the basis of a safe system of work (SSW).
Delegates will have an understanding of the essentials of the risk assessment process. Different types of hazards will be identified and the effects of human factors in different situations will be considered.
The potential outcomes, accidents and ill health will be highlighted when evaluating risks.
Emphasis will placed on applying the principles of prevention when selecting risk controls. The HSE’s Red, Green and Amber lists will be referred to when composing method statements.
Delegates will be provided with a template for recording RAMS and have an opportunity to carry out a risk assessment and compile a compliant method statement during the course.
Outcomes:
On completion, the delegate will understand all aspects of risk assessment and method statement.
A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded.
Delegate Preparation:
There is no requirement for delegates to have any previous knowledge of risk assessment or method statement – the course is suitable for beginners.
