Course Details

This course will ensure that all employees are aware of how to move objects safely and what their legal responsibilities are under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 as well as the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992. This qualification can be tailored to business and individual needs to make the learning experience relevant and fit for purpose.

 

Who needs this qualification? 

  • New and existing staff as a refresher.

Why is this training important? 

The employer's duty is to avoid Manual Handling as far as reasonably practicable if there is a possibility of injury. If this cannot be done then they must reduce the risk of injury as far as reasonably practicable. In this course delegates will learn how to risk assess manual handling activities and how to safely reduce risk.

  • Common causes of accidents and ill health in the workplace

  • Hazardous lifting operations

  • Manual handling risk assessment

  • The use of lifting equipment

  • Practical moving and handling activity

  • Multiple choice assessment
