  • Teacher's Experience
  • Originally from France, Alexandre Roux-Dufort discovered the saxophone upon his arrival in Quebec in 2010. He quickly developed a passion for this instrument and became passionate about jazz. Very early on, he decided to devote himself to it professionally and in 2018 obtained a double DEC in Music and Human Sciences at the Cégep de Ste-Foy. The same year, he was awarded an excellence scholarship upon his admission to Université Laval, where he joined the Baccalaureate in Jazz Interpretation in Janis Steprans' class . In recent years, Alexandre has participated in several projects and musical ensembles. It was especially upon entering Cégep that he formed, with two fellow guitarists, the “Delasalle” quartet, specializing in gypsy jazz, which performed regularly in Quebec and Montreal. In 2019, the group plays in the first part of international pianist Brad Mehldau , as part of the Quebec Jazz Festival in June. At the same time, Alexandre took an interest in other musical styles and in 2016 played alongside the young Quebec singer-songwriter Simon Kearney during a series of “ Pop'n'roll ” concerts across Quebec. Alexandre also plays the tenor saxophone in the " Orchester Funk de Québec»Since 2018 and alto saxophone in the emerging group« Neat Summa ». Since the start of his Baccalaureate, Alexandre has devoted himself to teaching his instrument in several schools in Quebec City.
